Located on the banks of the Oruaiti River in Northland, New Zealand, our grove is home to 500 mature Frantoio olive trees. Harvested annually and cold pressed within hours of picking, the olives produce Shaken Down Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a certified extra virgin olive oil and 2026 Gold Winner at the Oliveti Awards. From branch to bottle, every drop is proudly Northland grown.

Awarded Gold at the 2026 Oliveti Awards and certified Extra Virgin, Shaken Down Olive Oil is produced from 500 mature Frantoio olive trees growing on the banks of the Oruaiti River in Northland.

Harvested annually and cold pressed to preserve freshness, the oil delivers vibrant green fruit notes with a distinctive peppery finish.

Duel

Frantoio olive trees (or NZJ5 olives) are a Tuscan variety that is disease-resistant and well-adapted to Northland conditions.

Olive farming is all about the sun. In early May, after a hot Northland summer, the olives are shaken down using a machine harvester, and transported to Olivado Pressing House in Waipapa for cold pressing and bottling.

Frantoio olives in Shaken Down Olive Oil produce a sassy, robust oil with a fresh, green, fruity flavour ending in a peppery kick.
